When TV Scriptwriters Got It

Courtesy of our friends at the PatriotPost comes this video gem from the old television series, Dragnet.

Some might be wistful about the good ole days when Americans still understood their country in the way Dragnet's scriptwriters did, and even more wistful at the mere notion that there was anyone in Hollywood who not only understood their country but was willing to say so in a TV show.

We're more optimistic. The video clip we've linked to has already had more than 1.1 million views, and that didn't happen through anything other than the ability of the people to use the internet. Certainly no mainstream media outlet promoted the video. And if you think 1.1 million views isn't much, it's probably more than Newsweek's circulation.

We see items like these and feel more confident that the tide has turned in America. The politicians in Washington are the last to know, and it takes an election cycle or two for them to get it.

America is by no means out of the woods, and even a few strong election cycles will not fully eradicate the evil suggestion of socialism --it's just part of the human condition. But fewer and fewer Americans are even remotely fooled by left-wing rhetoric and the media echo chamber. There's just no truth in it, and the people know it.

But when Joe Friday talks, people listen....and their hearts connect.
