Americans Did Not Vote For This... Americans Can Stop This
America does not have to simply 'endure'this Soros/Obama ordeal.
Reversal, repeal, rescission
and recovery will start when we as Americans refuse to accept three critical lies that are being repeated to us almost every day.
Lie #1: The actions of the Obama administration are not opposable because the election of 2008 settled these issues in favor of Obama’s leftist ideology.
Lie #2: The fact that some poll somewhere finds that a majority of its respondents believe Obama is a likable guy who is trying hard proves that the same majority supports the actions of the Obama administration.
Lie #3: There is nothing Americans can do to stop this agenda, because Democrats control Congress and Democrats support Obama.
The latest use of Lie #1 was in White House attempts to discredit Dick Cheney’s recent comments defending the Bush Administration’s use of ‘enhanced interrogation’ tactics in the aftermath of September 11. The White House line was to vigorously disagree with Cheney, to roll out the complete fiction that this issue was thoroughly vetted in the campaign, and to assert that Obama’s victory in the election proved the majority of Americans are with Obama on this issue.
Please. Unless you are under age 12, odds are overwhelming that you have a vivid recollection of September 11, 2001. The odds are, further, that you know exactly how you felt on September 12, when the entire country was faced with extreme fear of other attacks, without any confidence that the government was equal to the job of getting on top of this threat and stopping it. You and every thinking American would have expected that if the government (whether military or law enforcement) learned of a serious threat of another attack, that your fellow Americans in government positions would do everything possible to collect the information necessary to thwart the attack, and then to actually thwart it. You would have been up in arms if your fellow Americans in government positions weren’t taking such actions. Doesn’t matter whether you were Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian or whatever, this is exactly the way you felt if you have even an ounce of seriousness in you.
Nancy Pelosi and every other Congressman briefed by the CIA on enhanced interrogation techniques being used on al-Qaeda detainees would have supported them and, as has been reported, would likely ask if enough was being done to protect America.
Perhaps with the passage of time, it is possible for serious people to conclude that enhanced interrogation methods represented an overstep of some kind. But it is absolutely not possible for serious people to say that they would have stood in violent opposition to the use of waterboarding (a technique used to toughen our own Navy SEALS during their training) if it appeared likely to elicit information that would save American lives. And the idea that the election of November 2008 represented an endorsement by the American people of establishing some kind of Truth Commission and possible criminal prosecution of Bush Administration officials for doing what every serious American wanted and expected them to do—this is so far beyond the pale as to defy description.
What in the hell has happened to seriousness in Washington? Do we really have a Democrat Party so beholden to George Soros’ money that they actually believe they can stick with this lie and sell it to the American people? COME ON!!!! Pravda can run an endless loop of this lie, and it isn’t going to fly. Pravda can put together a poll saying Americans support this lie, and it isn’t going to make a difference. Outside the Beltway, real people still know what honesty is; they still know what the saying means: ‘to thine own self be true’. The Bush administration did what the vast majority of Americans wanted and expected them to do. That ought to be the end of this nonsense.
Lie #2 is one of the tools that seems to paralyze Beltway Republicans into submission and silence, though it involves an utterly incongruous leap of logic. Americans don’t like to turn personally on anyone, and certainly not on the President their fellow Americans elected just five months ago. But come on!!! Not one American voter in November 2008 thought that 100+ days into this new administration that we would see a $787 billion phony stimulus, multi-trillion deficits, a GM CEO ordered out by the government; the rule of law brazenly ignored by the government to payoff the unions; bank employees told what they can be paid; a President proclaiming we’re not a Christian nation, and apologizing the world over for America; the proposed nationalization of healthcare; a proposed out-of-control carbon tax. Not. One. American.
So stop believing Lie #2, which will open the way to effectively addressing Lie #3.
It’s worth remembering that once we recognize a lie for what it is, the only power it can ever have is the power we consent to give it. The lie itself is impotent, no matter who is repeating it.
And so it is critical that Americans everywhere stop accepting the lie that ‘there’s nothing we can do about this’. It’s still a country of ‘we the people’; the Political Class is the servant class, not the master class; and nothing disarms a liar faster than confrontation and truth-telling. If it takes faxes, emails, letters, more tea parties, marches, and even organized sit-ins with each and every Congressman to get this entire agenda stopped and the lies neutered, we the people must rise up and do it, and do it, NOW. Stop believing that anything close to a majority of Americans want this; stop believing that there is a reason to be cautious and tentative and slow. The picture is clear already, and shame on us as Americans if we don’t act now to change it. They can’t take our freedom from us unless we let them.
