It's Up to Us - The American People

The die is cast. The American people can see that they have been swindled; that they are being subjected to a ‘soft coup’ whereby a radical leftist tyranny has manipulated and deceived its way into the White House and the senior leadership positions of the Democrat Party and is now trying to impose its worldview on a people who do not share it and would never have allowed it had they not been brazenly misled and lied to.

Within the Beltway, the vast majority of incumbent politicians are clueless as to what’s happening, and most of those who have a clue are well out of their league in terms of knowing how to deal with it. They all want the Pravda media to tell them everything is going to be okay; they want to parrot some Axelrod/Emanuel talking points that say everything is going to be okay; and then they want to get over to tonight’s cocktail party in Georgetown where they can pat each other on the back and assure themselves that everything is going to be okay.

But they know, and they know the American people know, that everything is not okay. They know they have been accomplices to a wildly irresponsible raping of the America of the founding; they are engaging in fiscal and national security recklessness; they know they belong in jail; and they are now moving to a panic and conspiracy phase where they deny the size and principles of the Tea Parties, they impugn the motives and character of the Tea Partiers, and they pray to the god of Obama and opinion polls to bail them out. It’s not going to happen.

But it is up to us, the American people, to navigate our way through this fiasco with full faith in each other and in God. We may think we don’t have the necessary ‘leaders’ to get through this. We are the leaders. We just need to hold ourselves accountable as leaders, by doing everything we can lawfully do every day to reverse and overturn this lawless government. And we must resolve that we will not stop until the job is done.

We know we are not racist. We know we are not a greedy people, impervious to the needs of the less fortunate. We know we are not an envious people, but a people who admire dreamers, risk-takers and achievers who make our lives better through their vision, innovation and hard work. We know we are not a stingy or selfish people or a profligate people, and our dislike for out-of-control spending and out-of-control taxation is nothing more or less than our own common sense writ large. We know we are a Judeo-Christian nation, and it is precisely that religious heritage that has led to the unmistakable fact that in all of human history, America is and has been an overwhelming force for good. We know that the statement “I’m an American” is and has been a privilege and a source of pride and joy.

Now we are being fed by a fraudulent, arrogant government a daily, nonstop barrage of lies about who we are as a people, and what we stand for as a country. The lies are egregious; they are offensive; they are enraging. They are testing our patience; they are trying our souls; they are putting our faith to the test.

Some observers might believe there will either be a violent boiling over of rage at this government, or a slow and deadening drift into submission and surrender of the American heritage—but nothing in between.

We don’t agree with the either/or proposition. We think it’s up to us, the American people, how and when this government will be toppled. Our awakened state cannot be ‘numbed down’; there is not a shred of influence left in any of the Pravda media; their lies can continue to be peddled, but they will not be bought. The willful defiance of the will of the people by this lawless government may continue, but obedience to unjust laws will not. The Alinsky-ites may bait us to take to violence against our fellow Americans, but we can refuse to take the bait and stay completely focused on removing this fraudulent government and repealing everything it has done.

As we stay clear and focused and unafraid—and use every opportunity in our daily walk and conversation to voice our identification of this government as a lawless tyranny and our determination as a free people to get rid of it—we will get the overturning that is so needed.

It’s up to us.
