Freedom Can Undo Fraud

The election of 2008 was a fraud on America. But America’s heritage of individual freedom and responsibility under God can overturn and defeat this fraud. The Paul Reveres of today must sound the word ‘freedom’ over and over in order to wake up Americans to an enemy more ethereal than the British in 1776 but just as formidable and—here is the good news—just as defeatable. The enemy is lies—lies about what America represents in the history of the world; lies about the importance of preserving America’s heritage for the benefit of the whole world; lies about skin color and ‘acting’ as a substitute for character and real living.

Americans are descended from a heritage centered on self-evident truths: that all men (and women) are created equal, and are endowed by God with certain inalienable rights, among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These foundational truths led to the most advanced civilization in all of human history—not just the most materially prosperous, but the most charitable, the least imperialistic, the most just, and the most caring. They provided the moral impetus to remove the stain of human slavery, and they continue to impel reform toward higher ideals of human dignity, equality and opportunity.

Barack Obama and the entire phalanx of media and intellectual elites that propped him up have lied about who he is, what his ideas are, and how violently they conflict with America’s heritage and her foundational truths. They have propped up the lie that appearance and smooth-talking and academic learning can be a substitute for character tested and proved in life experience and real achievement.

Obama and his army of media supporters raised the race issue in the course of the election to stifle all criticism of his ideas and his past. Nothing he said acknowledged the equality of the races inherent in our identity as God’s children. God is to him a fictional creation of the bitter clingers, a stubborn nuisance that must be maneuvered around so that elites can go about the business of imposing their own concepts of what life is or should be allowed to be, what liberty means and must not be allowed to mean, and what forms of happiness can and cannot be pursued and at what price.

God is not mocked, and so Obama and his acolytes and his ideas are destined for complete failure and human disaster along with it; the only question will be at what cost to America and the rest of humanity? We’d prefer not to find out, but we’re not confident that we’ll find a real remedy through legalities and procedures. The remedy for lies is truth, and the simplest, irreducible truth is captured by the singular concept of individual freedom.

So when Obama and the media and the entire leftist movement start the call for higher taxes, the answer is no, we want our freedom.

When they tell us they will determine what cars we can have, what sources of energy we can have, the answer is no, we want our freedom.

When they tell us they will determine when and how and at what price we are allowed to care for our health and the health of our family, the answer is no, we want our freedom.

When they tell us they will limit or set or reset the pay of anyone, the answer is no, we want our freedom.

When they call for mandatory government service, the answer is no, we want our freedom.

When they call to limit the right to bear arms, the answer is no, we want our freedom.

When they tell us they will open up the country to those who do not embrace America’s foundational truths, the answer is no, we want America’s foundational truths upheld so that the ideal of freedom can spread to all people in all countries.

When they tell us, subtly in the particulars, but glaringly in the big picture, that they want government to take the place of God, the answer is no, we want our freedom under God, not under government.

Our heritage of individual freedom and responsibility under God is a historical rebuke of, and a refusal to be subject to the arbitrary, rigged rule of elitists. So now is the time—in the Starbucks coffee group, in the young moms’ play group, in the guys’ after hours sports leagues, at the happy hour, in the PTA, at the church social, and in every other networking group and sub-group across this country—to speak early and often and loudly of freedom. Freedom must be in the national conversation and consciousness. Freedom will wake Americans from the stupefying illusion that was and is the Obama persona and campaign. Freedom will ultimately restore Americans’ innate connection to faith in one Creator. And freedom will undo the fraud of 2008.

Remember the American patriot Samuel Adams, who summarized this message two centuries ago: It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.
