Ten Year Tea Party

The fully awakened American population is a powerful thing to watch. And make no mistake, Americans in this 70/30 nation are wide awake. The energy emanating from the tea parties and millions of daily offshoot conversations is palpable and growing every day. And because of the substance of what is really going on, we’re very confident that America can and will emerge from the current mess stronger than ever, and faster than most would think possible. The media will do its best to paint an impossibly dark picture from which no one can recover, but Americans have seen through the media’s hysteria and bias, and have finally recognized that hysteria combined with bias results in lies. They will not be sucked in anymore.

The substance of what is going on is a spiritual renewal; a restoration of faith in God accompanied by a newfound appreciation for the connection between faith in God and the founding of the American nation “conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” Not everyone who is moved by this substance would describe it the way we have; some might even be afraid to use religious terms, and would openly prefer to couch it all in terms of fiscal policy or immigration policy or energy policy. But whether or not they prefer to use secular terms to describe it, there is simply no secular policy description that could account for the stirring that is taking place. There is a deeply felt, instinctive revulsion to this all-out assault on everything good and right about Judeo-Christian faith, individual freedom and America.

We’ve described Obama as a fraud, compared him to Bernie Madoff, and continue to expect that he will resign or be removed from office before completion of his first and only term as President. The American people of all colors and creeds are going to demand it; they are going to be morally right to demand it; and they will not be denied. But we can also see that the process by which the American wake up has occurred, and the way it is continuing to spread every day that Obama opens his mouth, will have benefits for America far greater than had Obama resigned or been removed too quickly. Because every action taken by this administration just deepens Americans’ interest in and attraction to America’s founding principles.

Americans of every stripe are taking a look at the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. They are asking: why did the founders refer to divine Providence so often? Why did they affirm their ‘firm trust’ in divine Providence in going forward with a Declaration of Independence that could (and in most cases, did) cost them their lives, fortunes and sacred honor? Why did they talk about the Creator and ‘all men created equal’ and self-evident truths? Are there self-evident truths? Is there a Creator? What is liberty? What is the pursuit of virtue and wisdom, which Jefferson described as the pursuit of happiness? Why was all of this so different than any nation that had come before?

This is the relearning and rededication that had to occur if America was to make a real U-turn away from the godless drift of the last 50 years (there were short periods of slowing the drift in the Reagan years and in the first couple of years following 9/11, but it was never truly stopped and reversed, primarily because the media became completely godless over that period). Because of the depth of relearning and rededication that is occurring, we think the stage is being set for a ten year run for the tea parties. And that’s what it will take to complete the U-turn and build a head of steam back in the right direction.

November 2nd is a big step in this U-turn, but it is only the first step. When Republicans take control of the Congress and the Senate, the Pravda media will be licking their chops over what they will see as a high stakes political game between Obama and the new Congress. They will see a replay of Gingrich vs. Clinton from 1996 and they will expect their guy to prevail as they paint Republicans into heartless, spending-cut obsessed ideologues and rubes who don’t understand the sophisticated problems they are dealing with and the disastrous consequences sure to follow if Almighty Government is dismantled.

We think Pravda will be disappointed and completely flummoxed once again; they simply have no idea what or how the American people think. Americans are tired of a ruling class and its house media organs treating this nation and its governance as a game. Obama’s radical, godless agenda has made clear that we are not in a battle between left and right, but between right and wrong, good and evil, up or down. The election of 1994 took place against a background of the House post office and other systemic corruption; the election of 2010 is against a background of spiritual revival. The movement that is giving it force is not going away after 2010.

There will be plenty of drama and trauma as Americans emerge from the Soros/Obama nightmare. To be optimistic is not to deny that we will be dealing with defaults and declines and cuts and losses that will be painful—just as would be the experience of any profligate individual spender who outruns his credit, stops being productive and is finally called to account to get his financial house and personal conduct in order. But there can be repentant nations just as there are repentant individuals, and if sincere, both can rebuild. The foundation for doing so has never changed, and in the case of America, it’s right in front of us: it’s called following the letter and spirit of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Here’s to ten years of tea parties!
