State of the Union Walk-Out

It’s time for Congressional Republicans to stand up for America

As Obama delivers his State of the Union speech in January, and at the first mention of the nationalization of healthcare, and with national and international cameras rolling, every Republican Representative and Senator must rise from their seats and walk out. They must follow their walkout by issuing a public statement condemning in the strongest possible terms the unconscionable, outrageous, despicable, defiantly unconstitutional actions of the Democrats in Washington DC who railroaded this massive lie through in a display of backroom dealing and corruption that was not even worthy of the old Soviet Politburo.

By taking this action, which will certainly be unprecedented in the minds of living Americans, the Republicans will signal that the battle lines are now officially drawn for the 2010 elections; that they know the pulse of the American people, who are infuriated with their out-of-control, middle-finger-to-the-people government; that what is at stake until this government is removed is nothing less than the future of the American republic, and indeed the future of Judeo-Christian grounded human freedom.

Let’s hear the arguments of the naysayers to the SOTU walk-out.

“We must respect the traditions of the State of the Union speech and respect the office of the President, even if we are unhappy. We have to honor the democratic process; we mustn’t be so confrontational. The Republicans are out of power because they lost the elections of 2008, and their proper recourse is in the elections of 2010. Such an overt show of disrespect to the President risks the complete loss of civility in our national political discourse, and could lead to broader lawlessness in the country. And please, let’s not get so dramatic about Christianity and all that related hyperbole. This is just a pendulum swing; let’s just shrug our shoulders and look the other way. Let there be peace in our time. And please realize, the public backlash against such a tactic, fueled by the media, will only help Obama and the Democrats.”

Let’s hear the view of the American people.

The elections of 2008 were a fraud on the American people, led by a candidate who consciously and deliberately concealed and misrepresented himself. This was and is manifest lawlessness, and the people now see it. The nationalization of healthcare was not on the ballot or the agenda of Obama in 2008, and polls showing more than 60% of the American people opposed to what this government has just done is a proof of the fraud of 2008 for all but those too intellectual to see. The American people are furious at this government and at the complete loss of integrity and competence and objectivity in their institutional media. They have made their voices known throughout the country in countless tea parties and protests, faxes, phone calls and emails, but nothing seems to matter. They see their government walking out on them. They know in their heart and soul that America is under vicious attack and the stakes for the future of human freedom have never been higher, but they see nothing but the smallest of human beings among their Republican leaders—people who would have to reach up to touch the ankles of Patrick Henry. And yes, they also know that at the core, this is an assault on God and on faith in God, and therefore an assault on the very foundation of America.

Yes, a walk-out will prompt the corrupt mainstream media to run headlines every day trying to instigate a public backlash favoring Obama, but they will be spitting against the wind. They tried sympathy stories for Bernie Madoff, too, but they found that fraud does not engender sympathy. The people have had enough of the lying, left-wing, anti-American political class and the lying, left-wing, anti-American media. This is now civil war, and the only question is whether it will remain civil.

A SOTU walk-out might give the American people hope that they are being heard, and that there are elected representatives in Washington who have some guts to use unprecedented ways to signal a determination to fight and unwind this unprecedented abuse by the American government.

Because here’s the additional reality nobody wants to face: it is the absence of a SOTU walk-out that may pose the greatest threat to the civility and stability of the country. The American people are at their collective wit’s end. Their elected Representatives are not in touch with their passions, and do not share the backbone and patriotism and love of God that they feel so deeply. The American people are not going to let their country, their Constitution and their faith be destroyed; they are ready to save this country or die trying. A SOTU walk-out with a public statement of condemnation of this government might buy a little more patience and forbearance by the American people—maybe enough to get them through the 2010 elections. But in the absence of a SOTU walk-out, the prospect of witnessing the SOTU, with an in-chamber audience showing yet another passionless, elitist, aloof disdain for what has just transpired on their watch may send the American people over the top.

Congressional Republicans—rise up and walk out of Obama’s upcoming SOTU. Confront this evil, and call it by its name. Find your soul and spirit, and be willing to lay them on the line for the America of the founding. If you do, you’ll find this godless bully of a government to be a paper tiger—because you and they will find that the American people are behind you and with you, and nobody messes with the American people when they are awake and resolved to fight. If you don’t, you’re going to bring on a public fury you’re not going to enjoy and you’re never going to forget.

And a final note to Senator John McCain—you tried a Presidential campaign rallying cry around the message “Stand Up for America!” You lost an election to a fraud and due to fraud, but you made a personal decision to turn the other cheek. Your decision may have been motivated by noble intentions, but it ought to be obvious to you by now that it was not noble but naïve. So it’s time to live your words; it would put your stamp on the action that might save the country. Stand up and walk out of Obama’s SOTU.

The American people are watching.
