President Barry Soetoro?
The blogosphere, courtesy of our favorite news aggregator/filter
Lucianne.com,
is buzzing with what appears to be a highly believable explanation of the Obama birth certificate controversy—all of which was generated by new Governor Neil Abercrombie’s strange recent decision to bring attention to the issue.
The gist is that upon Obama’s adoption by the second husband of his (alleged) mother—an Indonesian Muslim male by the name of Lolo Soetoro—Obama’s name was legally changed to Barry Soetoro, and has never been legally changed back to Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Notation to this effect may have been made in the Hawaiian birth records, including possibly, indication of Indonesian citizenship and, possibly, religious affiliation as a Muslim. So the effort to block disclosure of the birth certificate has never been about birth location—in fact, making birth location into the presumed issue was the Alinsky-ite/Axelrod way of ostracizing and making fools of those who were actually concerned not about place of birth but at the common sense level: why so much effort to block disclosure of a birth certificate if there is no real problem?
So if the blogosphere’s explanation holds true, how big is the real problem?
The Pravda media will probably first hold out awhile to see if they can sit on this latest development and hope it will go away for lack of notice. We doubt that will work; beginning tomorrow, the internet and talk radio will make the ‘ignore it’ option impossible. (Neil Abercrombie may not be able to escape follow up himself). But then the Pravda media will find themselves in a pickle. If they want to lecture the American people about why all of this doesn’t matter, they may be forced to explain why it doesn’t matter, which will require detailed investigation of how it all happened—which will in turn lead to the very obvious question: why didn’t they do it before the election of 2008? And if they refuse to investigate and explain why none of this matters and use instead their misguided read of Christianity and call for forgive-and-forget, everybody-does-it defense, they will distance themselves even further from the American people.
Because if the blogosphere’s explanation is right, the American people will not be patient with this situation. In the simplest of terms, Obama will have been exposed as having deliberately lied to the American people. However forgiving they may be of individual misconduct, there is a completely different level of judgment applied by the American people when the office of the Presidency is involved, and the misconduct is deliberate, right in the face of the American people, and relates directly to a qualification issue that was raised, denied and buried by the liberal establishment.
A giant, Axelrod-orchestrated PR campaign around a personal mea culpa from a President who appears personally popular may be the only option available, but even if it is tried (and that’s not a sure thing with an amoral bunch like this), we think it will be too little and too late to overcome this basic instinctive American reaction.
If the mea culpa option is declined in favor of the ‘no big deal’ defense, the claim by Obama defenders that the true story is insignificant is belied by the millions of dollars spent to block its disclosure. They knew damn well the truth would effectively end Obama’s presidential aspirations. And they know the American people know it, too.
Think one or two lawyers could make an argument that Obama lied when he took the oath of office as Barack Hussein Obama, and everything he has signed after that day is invalid? Think the American people are amused by a man who has created this kind of legal mess for their entire government?
Or go back in time…what if Obama made use of his Indonesian identity to get admission and financial aid for college and law school? Think there might be a few million American parents who don’t find that amusing?
So stand by…things are going to get interesting, and fast. Pravda will want to keep attention focused on the State of the Union show, the mean-spirited Republicans and the Super Bowl. But the legitimacy and continuity of the Obama presidency may soon be up for grabs. That’s the real news the blogosphere has just broken.
