The Silliness of the Obama Comeback Spin

America’s Pravda media is so deeply entrenched in the leftist worldview and cheerleading function that they are unable to see what a laughingstock they have become. The latest example comes from the breathless excitement over some poll suggesting an improvement in Obama’s approval rating. Pravda thinks they’ve succeeded in selling a Tucson speech and a correlated Sarah Palin crucifixion mission into renewed American confidence in Barack Obama. What a pathetically shallow read of what is going on in America.

The national debt is beyond incomprehensible levels and plainly out-of-control; federal spending is out-of-control; multiple states are facing bankruptcy; the housing market is in a state of collapse; real unemployment is probably in excess of 15%; Obamacare is a massive fraudulent mess; America’s enemies have sized up an empty suit in the White House; an entire American administration is in plain denial over an Islamic threat that 80+% of the American people recognize—and Pravda thinks a nice telepromptered speech has turned the tide, showed again the transcendent brilliance of Barack Obama, and all that’s left to do is see by what margin Obama wins re-election in 2012. The American Pravda media have become a self-parodying exercise in silliness.

Obama remains a man in wildly over his head in terms of sheer managerial incompetence, and a radical leftist ideologue wildly out of touch with the heart and soul of America. Nothing has happened or will happen to change these core facts. They have been made abundantly clear by Obama himself, and nobody but talking heads are excited or confused by headfakes and mellifluous rhetoric toward the political center. Besides, the road ahead will only bring more exposure. The challenges facing America cannot be addressed by a President who votes ‘present’, and they have already exceeded the capacity of intelligible socialist prescriptions (yes, that is an oxymoron).

We’ve never bought approval polls as an indicator of Obama’s political standing. If memory serves, he held an over 50% approval rating at the time Missouri voters rejected Obamacare by 71%. To the extent approval polls measure anything, it is some vague measure of personal likability, which is in turn a reflection of whether Pravda has stoked some angle of anti-likability (as they did in their hatred of Bush’s Christianity). They have never done such a thing with Obama; on the contrary, they have fawned and fawned and fawned. Given their coverage, if Pravda had half the influence they had even 10 years ago, Obama’s approval rating would be over 70%.

What is needed in America’s leaders is a humble faith and trust in God; a determination to follow the founding principles of America because they are timeless and grounded in truth; and a willingness to trust free men and women because they are the children of a loving Creator and not ignorant masses to be controlled by a human elite. Nothing that Obama is or stands for fills these needs, and the American people know it.

We’ve written before that we’d welcome a Saul-to-Paul conversion by Obama. But there is zero evidence of that taking place, and it absolutely cannot be faked. He is who he is. And so the spin of Obama’s comeback is simply frivolous.

It's America's comeback that's real and ongoing.
