New American Heroines:
Kyle-Anne Shiver

We wrote recently that the March 21 healthcare vote was the Fort Sumter shot that officially started the Second American Revolution: a war to remove the radical leftist Obama government that every day shows itself to be an out-of-control dictatorship wholly unmoved by the will or consent of the people. We also wrote recently of Lt. Colonel Allen West, one of the new American heroes emerging at just the right time to help lead this war.

Colonel West is running for Congressional office in a Florida district; as such, he will take enemy fire in a more visible way than most of the new American heroes. (The more visible and articulate the spokesman for the America of the founding, the more fire that will be heaped on him or her—and the “Purple Heart” winners in this political war will surely be the national conservative talk radio hosts, led by Rush Limbaugh.) But there are some less visible soldiers in this war who are acting heroically as what might be called “Paul Revere” journalists. One is Kyle-Anne Shiver.

Shiver is among those who are sounding the wakeup call throughout America, but are doing so with particular insight and courage, and are motivated by little other than love for God and America. There are certainly bigger and more recognized names who are also doing yeoman’s work and supporting themselves financially while doing it—Andrew Breitbart and Michelle Malkin come to mind—and there are millions of bloggers who try in their own way to throw new fuel on the ‘brushfires of freedom’ that are so needed around the country. But Shiver is standing out.

We’ve linked before to Shiver’s many contributions to understanding just who George Soros is and how he thinks (try here and here). In our view, Soros is a critical player in the overall Obama fraud and disaster, and it is nearly impossible to grasp just how antithetical Obama’s agenda is to America without understanding something about the godless moral insanity that constitutes George Soros’ animating worldview.

A more recent Shiver piece detected and dissected David Axelrod’s comments following the March 21 healthcare vote. The “leftists vs. the American people” modus operandi of this administration is exposed for anyone to understand. It’s chilling and it’s disturbing, but it’s also clear and unmistakable. That’s a real service to the American reader.

And that’s the point of highlighting Shiver as a new American heroine. It takes depth and discernment to recognize the nature of the evil confronting America; it takes a certain courage to say so publicly (even in an era of millions of blogs); and it takes a special talent to spell it out in a clear and common sense way (her blog is called “Common Sense Regained”). In so doing, she is empowering readers across the country to ‘get it’.

Which is pretty much exactly what her personal story says her purpose has been. September 11, 2001 rocked her world, as it did most Americans. But she didn't stand on the sidelines aghast; she resolved to dig in and try to figure out what in the hell was going on; and once she had a good handle on the truth, she resolved to do whatever she could to save this nation from the evil that is trying to destroy it.

That’s what an American patriot does. History generally permits us to know only the generals of the various wars, but in every war there were now-nameless soldiers who were carrying out heroic actions that fueled the eventual triumph. In the wars of the past, these actions were most often noteworthy for their physical content—taking the hill, covering the grenade, parachuting behind enemy lines. In America’s war of 2010, the battles are more mental; they are about waking up the stupefied thought that allowed this criminal administration and agenda to gain elected office. Shiver is doing this wakeup work, steadily and heroically.
