Resist

This is the operative word for all American patriots for the foreseeable future. It applies whether Obamacare passes or doesn’t pass; it applies from now until Obama resigns, is removed, or is voted out of office. The rationale is as simple as the Bible’s counsel: resist evil, and it will flee from you.

All across this country Americans are realizing day by day that there really is no other way to describe what Obama and his leftist thugs and sycophantic media are doing except as simple, unadulterated evil. Poll after poll after poll; protest after protest after protest; election after election after election—the American people are screaming that they do not want Obamacare. They are offended and infuriated by a Political Class that not only doesn’t care what the people think but also sticks its bribes, backroom deals and intimidation tactics right in their faces, with outrageous and indefensible disdain for the American democratic system and basic American decency. Obama lies relentlessly about the purpose and effect and cost of Obamacare; he knows he’s lying; the American people know he’s lying—and yet on and on he goes. And the Pravda media reports it all as if it were some kind of sporting contest, where the only important question is who is ahead in daily political scoring.

The resistance of the American people is strong and growing. No amount of Pravda media spin will change this fact. The resistance will not wane in the slightest if Obamacare dies on the vine, because the American people have smelled the rat, and they do not trust this government or anything it says, and will not trust it ever again. And if Obamacare somehow passes, the resistance is going to turn fierce.

The Obama administration is going to find that transparently manipulative and corrupt maneuvering to get some abomination covered by the name of ‘law’ does not make it so in a nation based on the consent of the governed. The governed do not consent to Obamacare, and they will not obey it if it is enacted.

The chattering classes on both sides of the aisle are ‘Chicken Little-ing’ the idea that once passed, government run healthcare can never be repealed. But the chattering classes are not the American people. The people have had a vivid, unprecedented lesson on how out-of-control, irresponsible, and deceitful the Political Class has become, and they know damn well that anything done by men and women can be undone by men and women. They will make repeal happen, and while they are at it, a large swath of unsustainable entitlement programs and government pensions are going to get blown up. The people will demand it, and will not rest until they get it. The Obama administration has awakened the American spirit in the same way Pearl Harbor and 9/11 awakened it. Some observers in 1941 no doubt said that America could never defeat the Japanese Imperial war machine. Some in 2001 thought America incapable of responding to 9/11. And some in 2010 predict that Americans have lost the ability and the will to stop an out-of-control criminal government. These types of observers have a perfect record of being wrong, and the record will remain intact through 2010 and beyond.

All of this will require leadership largely from outside the Political Class, or at least from some newcomers from among the Political Class (such as New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and Florida Senate candidate Marco Rubio), but they will step up. The phony sophistication that constitutes most of modern punditry simply cannot grasp the fact that what stirs the American spirit is the action of truth itself—or if you prefer the founders’ formulation, the ‘self-evident’ truths of the relation between the Creator and the created. These truths are written in the hearts of Americans or, more accurately, they are written in the hearts of all of humanity, but Americans have been blessed to have lived under a Constitution written by men who were both wise and humble enough to know this, and to know the difference between God and human government. Such men and women exist today also; they have been awaiting their call to shine.

There has never been a more brazen assault on America’s heritage of individual freedom and responsibility under God than what the Obama/Reid/Pelosi government is doing with Obamacare. Obamacare has nothing whatsoever to do with insuring the uninsured or disciplining insurance companies. It has everything to do with eliminating God from the nation, and replacing God with a government of elitist, amoral men and women who will reach into every individual American life to control every decision from birth to death in the name and under the guise of deciding what ‘health’ is and what ‘healthcare’ should cost. It throws man’s relationship to God out the window, and replaces it with man’s relationship to human government.

This is evil, plain and simple. Resist it every day, and in every way you can think of. Write, call, fax, speak, shout, scream, defy, and disobey. Don’t stop. Don’t rest. Don’t give up.

And pray.

This evil will be overcome.
