Stop Playing Americans for Fools: Obama is Not Re-Electable

It’s time for another ‘emperor has no clothes’ reminder. Since last November’s elections, Pravda has been doing everything possible to change the subject of what those elections meant as to Americans’ view of Barack Obama. And the useful idiot Republicans and pundits that reside inside the Beltway have, as always, played along, to such an extent that they proudly join the chorus to discuss if there is any Republican candidate who can beat Obama in 2012.

Memo to the ruling class: Obama is already out as President. He is not re-electable in 2012; he may be forced out even before then. If Obama stands for re-election, the Republican candidate, whoever he or she is, will defeat him in a landslide, and it will be another down-ballot tsunami just like November 2010.

The reason is really very simple: the lies about this man and his radical leftist agenda have been exposed, and they cannot and will not have any further influence on the American people.

Pravda can turn itself into an Orwellian pretzel trying to peddle a whole menu of lies: there is an economic recovery going on; the stimulus helped the economy; the unemployment rate is declining; people are content with $4 per gallon gas; the people don’t want to drill for any more oil; the people side with public employee unions; the people appreciate Obama’s hands-off approach as to a stellar gentleman like Muammar Qaddafi; the people are offended by Peter King’s hearings into Muslim radicalization in the US; the people don’t want to see their beloved government shut down; and on and on. The American people aren’t buying any of it, and don’t believe any poll that even remotely suggests otherwise.

Ah, but November 2012 is a long way away; the power of incumbency is awesome; Obama is a fund-raising machine and clever campaigner; Republicans like Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker have overplayed their hand; Obama is still personally liked; 95% of blacks will vote for him again; don’t forget Bill Clinton and his recovery from 1994.

Sorry, but that litany of arguments belongs to an era long gone. Americans have never had a fraud in the White House—until now. Government spending has never been so out of control and so staggering in absolute terms—until now. 90+% of Americans don’t belong to a union and don’t support what the unions are doing. Black conservatives are arising across the country and will chip away at the monolithic black vote. And Bill Clinton was not dealing with the Tea Party. (The closer parallel is actually 1980, when Ronald Reagan took 44 states against the incumbent Jimmy Carter. Carter wasn't half as radical as Obama).

America’s elites want to go home to their comfortable houses in the suburbs and pretend Americans are in ordinary times where ‘this, too, shall pass’. They have no grasp whatsoever of the substance of what drives the Tea Party. They don’t know what the Tea Party does know: America is in a war for its survival, and the American people are not passive about this war. They have entered the fight, and they intend to win it. Their resolve is not flagging; it’s actually rising and broadening, though Pravda is determined not to see it or report it. And they are awake like never before, so much so that standard Democrat talking points—‘we can’t cut the budget on the backs of the poor’—are so transparently untethered to any semblance of reality that they are seen simply as a joke.

NPR’s exposure as a haven for the bigoted, arrogant elitism which Americans know resides in every Pravda Board room, has dealt a blow to Pravda that simply cannot be overstated. Americans just sit back and marvel at how the White House and Pravda team up to peddle lies, without the slightest clue that no one believes them anymore.

So don’t be taken in by Pravda storylines that suggest Obama’s stature and reputation are recovering from the November 2010 shellacking. There is zero factual basis for those storylines; they are rank propaganda. The American people are disgusted by what this administration and the Democrats have done across every dimension of executive leadership; they know the country is on the wrong track no matter what government statistics are trotted out to suggest otherwise; and they are not bamboozled by either the nature or the remedy for the nation’s outrageous and egregious financial condition.

Pravda and the White House continue to play the American people for fools. Big mistake.
