Rally to Truth, NOW

We’ve arrived at a point in time where we are all called to be more comfortable with the terminology of ‘truth’ and ‘lies’. The doublespeak of George Orwell’s 1984 could only take hold through a mesmeric grip on thinking. And it could only be broken through the persistent acknowledgment of truth.

In 2009, there are ‘mesmerists’ galore in the form of the mainstream media and the George Soros’ funded organizations of the left, and the Obama/Reid/Pelosi voices of the ‘government’. They are now peddling the word ‘stimulus’ to describe the most grotesque collection of political pork in the history of the United States. This is a LIE. Let’s keep this simple, and repeat it clearly: this is a LIE.

Billions for ACORN, billions for Medicaid, billions for food stamps, billions for unemployment benefits, billions for those who don’t pay taxes, hundreds of millions for Planned Parenthood, hundreds of millions for digital TV converters: these do not stimulate economic activity. They do not. Not now, not ever. To pay for this pork will require the confiscation of private property (through taxes) in combination with the incurrence of national debt on a level that will sap our freedom like nothing we have ever experienced. Do not consent to even entertain the perverted rationalizations that grasp at some contrived economic theory to explain how this will help the American economy. It will not. It cannot.

Pound on your elected representatives. This is an abomination of government; it is an offense to America. Say no. Say no in every conversation with every friend, neighbor, working colleague, churchgoer, teacher, and student. Stop this lie from going forward. Reverse it; dispute it; fight it. Do not rest; do not acquiesce; do not passively observe; do not wait for the next proposal to really fight.

With a five point swing in the popular vote, this nonsense would not be with us. Brushfires believes that far more than 5% of the votes for Obama were cast in support of the idea of the first ‘black’ President. Time is already showing just how shallow, superficial and lightweight this kind of thinking was and is. Of course it doesn’t matter what color a leader’s skin is. It matters what the leader’s ideas are. And now we are seeing ideas that are anathema to the foundational American principle of individual freedom and responsibility under God. Brushfires believes that far more than 5% of the votes for Obama were cast by people who do not support in any way, shape or form the leftward lurch that he is now leading. They know now they’ve been had. And they are stirring.

They are stirring because Truth does exist; it is written in our hearts—and it does not embrace the worship of an all-powerful human government populated by arrogant elitists who insert themselves in place of God. The people smell arrogance, brazenness and recklessness, and they don’t like it.

The honeymoon is over; the fight has been joined; and Truth always wins. The daily headlines may try to argue otherwise, but they are spitting into the wind. Spitting into the wind will never put out Brushfires of Freedom.
