The Call to Pray for America
As the healthcare debacle moves to its next deadline; as more and more lies are spread to create the illusion that the legislation is something other than what it is, and that the American people support it when they manifestly do not; as the Political Class moves into unprecedented levels of chicanery and corruption—as all of this serves to expose just how fraudulent the entire 2008 election process was, one gets the sense that events are accelerating to a pivotal point.
Americans know they have been had. They know their nation is under attack. They know it. They know this cannot continue three more years. They didn’t vote for this; they do not want this; and the lies and propaganda grow more offensive to them every day. They are adhering to the high road of civilized protest; they are doing everything possible to insist on the basic principle that American leaders must act with the consent of the governed. But they see now that they are up against lawlessness, criminality, purposeful deceit—all directed at dismantling the divinely inspired foundation of their country. Something’s got to give.
We’ve said before that the amount of earnest prayer for this country may be at an all-time high right now. Put aside denominational differences and the theological nuances debated by seminary students, the fact is that Americans—and by that term we mean men and women of all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds and skin colors—have in their hearts a spiritual compass that tells them when their national government is off course. And it is wildly off course now.
That spiritual compass is grounded in Judeo-Christian teachings about the nature of God and man, of good and evil, of right and wrong. And again, regardless of what religious authorities may say about distinctions among matters of Judeo-Christian theology, real Americans aren’t much interested in all that. They can feel the evil, and they know they need to pray. It isn’t a denominational prayer; it’s much more like the prayer of George Washington kneeling in the snow at Valley Forge. We aren’t sure what to do; we haven’t faced this kind of internal threat before; we’re not confident that pieces of paper like the Constitution can hold up against this onslaught, and reverse it without resort to violence. And we’re surely not confident that we see among our elected officials the moral clarity and strength necessary to remove this out-of-control government.
We have read that faith no larger than a grain of mustard seed can remove mountains. Most of us haven’t had occasion to think seriously about whether we believe that, or whether it’s just a nice bedtime story for children. But we’re being forced to think about it now. We know we are face to face with a fraudulent government. We are seeing first hand and every day a no-boundaries willingness by that government to lie, cheat and backroom deal its way into ruling the people against their will. We are treated daily to experts who tell us there is nothing we can do about it; that we are helpless until the next elections; that this fraud can continue as a cancer in this nation, devouring the foundations of individual freedom and responsibility under God. We are in effect being pushed to accept that we are simply spectators to our own demise.
Don’t accept this nonsense. Reconsider and
reaffirm your faith.
Place your prayers on the shoulders of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan—men who didn’t care what denominational label might later be used to characterize their faith, but knew only that there was and is a good and loving Creator to whom a humble faith and trust was owed. The faith and prayer came first; the right results came later. The mountains of their time were removed. Not without turmoil; not without challenge; and probably not in the ways they may have expected or predicted. But they were removed.
This is not about persons and personalities as enemies; it is about godless leftist ideology run amok in its effort to destroy the God-given heritage of a God-centered society. This ideology is, plainly and simply, offensive to the American system of government and the American way of life. It cannot continue; it must not continue; it is today’s mountain that must be removed.
And so the call to pray for America. Not to specify how or which events must occur, and not with the intent to demonize individual people—but with a firm reliance on divine Providence to overturn this fraud, without delay.
