We noted last week that resistance to the leftist assault on America is a moral imperative; a demand of the times; a call to this generation of Americans to recognize the God of their God-given heritage under the Declaration of Independence and Constitution—and to defeat, remove and destroy this leftist cabal that is trying to overthrow the America of the founding. Just as resistance is imperative, so is persistence.

The old metaphor of the 100th blow of the sledge hammer finally breaking the boulder seems appropo. The breaking may have appeared only after the 100th blow, but each of the first 99 was necessary in order for the 100th to have its conclusive impact. Similarly, Americans are re-kindling their love of freedom; their awareness of the uniqueness of America; their comfort with the idea of living under a governing philosophy that starts with “all men are created equal” and are endowed by their Creator, and not by any system of human government, with unalienable rights. It’s taken a lot of steps to get there—maybe 99?—but in its relentless, daily assault on the America of the founding, this godless, menacing, deceitful Obama/Reid/Pelosi administration has issued wakeup call after wakeup call, to where now a solid and ever-growing majority of Americans are completely awake and know exactly what is at stake. They are resisting—consistently and forcefully—and they are near to delivering the blow that will break this criminal government and remove it. No, we’re not advocating or expecting violence, but the power of a God-inspired, morally enraged populace has a power that politicians do not understand.

Which brings to mind additional metaphors and truisms in support of the virtue of persistence—such as that it’s always darkest before the dawn; that the waters have to be stirred before the scum can come to the surface to be removed; and that evil and bullies and liars all seem to scream the loudest just before they crumble. These ideas come to mind as this week brings us the “Slaughter Solution”, Nancy Pelosi’s coverup of Eric Massa, and NASA’s version of the Climategate emails.

The "Slaughter Solution" —by which House of Representatives’ rules chicanery is to be used to ‘deem’ a law passed without a vote—is moral depravity, plain and simple. It is a complete dismissal of democratic process, common sense and common decency in the all-out determination to socialize the country with Obamacare. Using the so-called ‘reconciliation’ process to pass socialized healthcare was itself an illustration of determined lawlessness, but when that apparently wouldn’t work, the resort to the Slaughter Solution goes well past lawlessness into the realm of moral insanity. Obama, Pelosi and Reid simply have no idea of the rage they are instigating among the American people. The American people will not let them get away with destroying this country.

Pelosi’s treatment of the Massa case is just as depraved. Turns out that Eric Massa has long been known to be a moral degenerate, but he was tolerated by the Democrat leadership so long as he voted the right way on the leftist agenda. But when he turned out to be a ‘no’ vote on Obamacare, suddenly a long-standing ‘ethics’ investigation was wrapped up and the public was provided a view of just who this Massa pervert is. What better way to send a message of intimidation to ‘blue dogs’ and others as to how this Democrat leadership plays ball with those who don’t toe the leftist line? Yet the willingness to hold the information until it was needed for political pressure reveals a cynical indecency and vile motivation that truly repels.

Holding information is also the theme of the ever-evolving Climategate scandal. Now it turns out that NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies has acknowledged for three years or more that its data on ‘climate change’ is not nearly as strong as the data of the famous Climate Research Unit of the University of East Anglia—that is to say, NASA’s data is not nearly as strong as the data of the University of East Anglia that has been completely discredited as fraudulent and now announced as lost or destroyed after news leaked out of the fraud behind it and the political agenda-driven ‘scientists’ who produced it. Pravda media outlets—such as USA Today in this case, and the BBC in the CRU case—knew the whistle had been blown on the bogus data, but sat on the information. But now it’s coming out, and it may finally take down James Hansen and Al Gore once and for all.

The Slaughter Solution, the Eric Massa episode, and NASA-gate, rather than reasons for despair, can surely be seen as the ‘scum’ of radical leftism coming to the surface to be removed. As such, they are actually evidence of the progress set in motion by the awakened American people. They are a source of confidence that this corrupt and fraudulent administration is headed for definitive removal, and the damage it has done headed for complete reversal. Doesn’t mean there won’t be more scum coming to the surface, and some of it more sickening than this week’s examples, but they are not to be feared. It is the lies and liars that are on the run.

This site was inspired by Samuel Adams’ call to set ‘brushfires of freedom’ in the minds of men in order to prevail against tyranny—but what Obama/Reid/Pelosi are doing is setting bonfires, forest fires, brushfires and prairie fires all across America and the world. And to borrow the religious phrase, they will be consuming fires to this out-of-control administration.

Persist. The 100th blow is coming.
