This Will Not Stand

Congressional action to pass the ‘stimulus’ bill this past week was and is and forever will be known in history as a gigantic fraud on the American people. The people who perpetrated it will become famous, and the bill will change the direction of the country, but in exactly the opposite way intended by the angry and malicious left-wing leaders who brought it about. That is because a lie is a lie, and no matter how much rhetoric props up a lie, no matter how many spin-experts and PR flacks go into overdrive to sell a lie, no matter how much support and cover is provided by the farce that now passes for ‘journalism’, and no matter how many Ivy league pontificators want to lecture us about ‘perception is reality’—there is no way to transform a lie into truth. Truth—not perception—defines reality.

Obama is exposed as a complete fraud. His promise of transparency in government: a lie. His claim of bipartisan appeal: a lie. Telling us a bill providing $2 billion of citizens’ money to fund ACORN is an economic stimulus: an unconscionable lie. The very provision of the bill committing a 48-hour period for the public to be informed of its contents: brazenly violated. The implementation of major policy revisions without any democratic debate through an ‘economic stimulus’ bill—as with the re-introduction of welfare, and the nationalization of healthcare—mocks the entire democratic system established by the Constitution of the United States. Telling us that all of this is what the American people voted for in the 2008 presidential election is unspeakably dishonest. Ignoring the opposition to this bill from engaged citizens communicating with their elected officials—reportedly running at over 100 to 1 in fierce opposition—is nothing less than tyranny.

Serious, deeply patriotic Americans are offended by what has been done. Their anger, cynicism and bitterness are at levels rarely seen by anyone living today. Many despair that this has destroyed the America that has always been a beacon of freedom to the world; a sane bastion of confidence in individual freedom and responsibility under God. Their concern is justified, and their duties as citizens to take the actions that will facilitate reversal of this travesty must be met. But despair is not warranted.

The brazen dishonesty and political fraud represented by this bill is actually evidence of weakness, not strength. Truth can never be actually defeated; it can be temporarily obscured and seemingly derailed, but truth always prevails.

Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Schumer and others may be pounding their chests in triumph and snickering at what fools they were able to make the opposition appear to be. Their cheerleaders in the media will create popularity polls to give them cover and comfort. They will keep moving with what they think are the clever tactics that will enable them to fool enough of the people all of the time. But it’s going to collapse on them, and it will be ugly when it does. How can we be sure?

Here’s the simple fact that our culture of political correctness won’ allow to be stated: Truth is of God; or more accurately, God is Truth. The left, as it has always done, is actually fighting against God, against the idea that there is such a thing as transcendent Truth. It’s a losing fight, and always will be a losing fight. The left counts on mesmerizing and fooling people and they can appear to succeed for a time, but people are in fact children of their Creator—they are children of Truth who are able to recognize and feel truth, and recognize and feel lies. They are waking up now, and they are recognizing how they’ve been had. They are going to respond.

How exactly will this fraud collapse? How will the stimulus bill be undone and its fraudulent provisions reversed? We can’t predict the particulars, and we know there’s a certain intellectual perspective that tries to put borders around what is or isn’t possible through the mechanisms of our political system. We know to assert that there is a power greater than our smooth politicians invites derision from our elites, and even a kind of dismissal from those locked into what they view as practical or impractical within the legal framework of society. But Truth is actually above (as well as foundational to) society; it shapes the rules—the rules don’t shape truth. So we’ll only say that this package of lies and liars will collapse, and uncertainty about the means does not equate to uncertainty about the results. Just watch…
