Let Obama Get Mad

Obama hasn't earned the right to be angry about anything...

The weekend showed a significant turn against Obama. The yahoo news portal headlined Obama losing his cool; the Washington Post kicked in with a put-down story drawing parallels between Obama and the hapless Jimmy Carter; even AP wrote of nervous Democrats. This is all to the good. The wake-up call about this fraud is being heard across the country, and not even Pravda can afford to ignore it. But what we find most encouraging are the anecdotes that Obama is getting mad at the mounting criticism.

Anger will not play well with the American people, and it will actually have the powerful though unintended effect of focusing more and more Americans on the FRAUD that is Obama and his entire agenda. Why? Because Obama has no grounds whatsoever to be angry about anything. He won an election through the votes of millions of well-meaning Americans who wanted the ‘good for America’ feeling of electing the first black President. They believed in the utterly false portrayal of Obama as a moderate ‘centrist’; they wanted to give him a chance.

The criticism that is now burning nearly out of control is almost entirely based on the extreme difference between Obama the candidate and Obama the President. It’s a mess of his own making. The radical, extreme leftist takeover of major industries, the completely discredited stimulus, the unconscionable and unfathomable trillion dollar deficits, the apologize-for-America while embracing Muslims, the cap and trade idiocy, and the railroading of socialized healthcare, the governance through unelected and unaccountable ‘csars’—none of this was foreseen. Even one item is nearly indigestible—but the whole of the agenda is so radical, and the effort to ram it through so obviously based on deceit and denial of true motive and intent, that there’s no way to conceive of it happening in good faith. In other words, Americans now know they’ve been had, and millions of them aren’t going to take it lying down.

So if Obama chooses to express anger at the criticism and anger at the refusal to implement his agenda, he’s going to have to explain why his anger is reasonable. Let’s look at the ways he might do this.

First, he’ll trot out the ‘blame Bush’ mantra for this ‘inherited’ mess that ‘requires’ his radical agenda, but our guess is that this tactic wore thin about two months ago. So what is he left with?

“Dammit, I campaigned on all this and the people voted for me because they want it”? That will surely cause a focus on what he in fact campaigned on, and it most certainly wasn’t a radical leftist agenda. In very simple terms, it will highlight the fraud he committed during the campaign.

“My agenda will work because I’m a proven successful leader who has turned around a state or a business, and I know what works”? That, too, will cause a focus on this total novice who escaped vetting solely because of a transparently biased and irresponsible media. It will fan the flames of Americans’ anger toward the entire Political Class. And at the simplest level, the people know instinctively and intuitively that the spending levels being pushed by this administration are unsustainable; they defy common sense. The people also know that socialized medicine is not a success story--anywhere.

Obama in fact has no experience running anything; he is not a proven success in anything substantive; he simply has no merit-based reason to convince the people he knows what he’s doing as a President. This is of course just another way of making the clichéd observation that there is a difference between campaigning and governing. But in the vernacular of the day, Obama is taking this difference to a new level. He is not qualified to be the President of the United States. It’s that simple. The whole birth certificate issue may the literal beginning of the reasons he is not qualified, but the other reasons are just as powerful. He rode the fantasy of skin color as a proxy for substance, but it turns out skin color is about his only substance. Put his qualifications and experience on a color-blind resume, and he has zero chance of election to the Presidency.

What it all adds up to for Americans is the inescapable and growing feeling of having been defrauded. NOT disappointed, but defrauded.

Imagine Bernie Madoff sternly pointing fingers at the riffraff who are demanding that Madoff do what he said he would do. Imagine Bernie Madoff getting mad at the impatience of silly investors who aren’t as smart as he is. Now imagine Madoff doing both of these things in front of an audience of investors who have already realized he is a fraud. The anger would go through the roof.

This is what awaits Obama if he decides to publicly ‘talk tough’ about Congress’ balking at implementing his radical left agenda.

So by all means, let’s hope he gets mad. It will only hasten the day when the pundits and then Congress will finally start talking seriously about fraud, impeachment and removal.

Bring it on.
