The Religion of Liberalism Must Go
We’re not the first to compare liberalism to a religion, nor are we the first to note the irony and hypocrisy inherent in the fact that the very intolerance and judgmentalism for which liberals rail against Christianity is practiced by liberals in spades as to their own politically correct views.
Still, it’s worth repeating, because as Americans continue this ongoing
war against liberalism,
it’s important to convert and recruit more and more previously asleep people to the cause of the America of the founding.
Whether the movement in support of the America of the founding is called conservatism, or tea parties or simply patriotism, it is in reality a stand in favor of the Judeo-Christian foundation of the nation, and the bedrock ideals of individual freedom and responsibility under God. Liberalism, on the other hand, is an aggressive attempt
to dismiss God
from the human scene and replace Him with a ‘government of men’ and not of laws; to build a government on power and not on truth; to replace individual freedom with collective subjection; and to exchange individual responsibility with dependence on government.
A set of examples that illustrate the differences between the religion of liberalism, and the inherent character of Judeo-Christian ‘Americanism’ has been circulating on the internet for quite awhile. We expect you’ve seen some version of it. It’s conveyed with a sense of humor, and it’s hard not to chuckle at some of the formulations. But it deserves as much visibility as it can be given, because beneath the humor there is some very serious and deep thinking that ought to stir men and women everywhere.
We don’t know the original source of these examples (if we did, we would give credit where credit is due), but here they are:
If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's Islam, of course!)
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he's "offended."

Ok, so skip past the humor, and think about what we at Brushfires of Freedom have consistently referred to as the basic American ideal: individual freedom and responsibility under God.
What kind of thinking demands that everyone conform to his or her point of view—i.e., banning all guns, banning all meat products, banning all dissenting opinion? It is not the thinking of anyone who believes in individual freedom.
What kind of person waits around for someone else to take care of him, or demands that others pay for what he wants? It is not the thinking of anyone who believes in individual responsibility.
What kind of thinking demands legislation to compel respect for his choices? What kind of thinking demands the banning of any mention of God? It is not the thinking of anyone who believes his life is derived from or ‘under God’.
If anyone, including an honest liberal, really takes the time to think about these examples, and dismisses the temptation to engage in snarky comebacks through intellectual gamesmanship, they’ll come to a basic realization of something they’ve been told is extreme but is in reality simple truth: liberalism is anti-American.
That’s why there is no compromise to be found between liberalism and America as founded. That’s why liberalism is itself offensive to the vast majority of Americans. That’s why liberalism has to be opposed, fought with and defeated in this war.
