The U.S. Government vs. American Government
Soros/Obama/Pelosi don’t know the difference, but they are about to learn…
The sense of fear, panic and dread that is sweeping the hearts and minds of decent, God-loving, patriotic, reasonably engaged Americans throughout the nation is almost palpable. We are not even six months into a new President’s administration, and there is overwhelming evidence of an agenda that is nothing short of diabolical. Yes, we said ‘diabolical’ and we mean it.
The nation’s financial resources are being spent into oblivion; massive, sweeping changes in societal structure—in the form of ‘cap and trade’; the nationalization of healthcare; the elimination of the Second Amendment—are being concocted out of view of the people, then being propped up by propaganda, disinformation and outright lies; a Congress of elected representatives of the people seem not to care that they don’t really know or understand what they are voting on; and another Pravda poll or pundit will seek to confer ‘approval’ or popularity or awe at what is happening. Internationally, we have a President abusing and dissing America’s kindred spirit (Great Britain) and America’s spiritual ancestor (Israel). Theologically, we have a President proclaiming that America is not a Christian nation, as he proceeds to bow to Muslim sheikhs. With every speech, we hear attempts to create revisionist history regarding America’s identity, her place and purpose, and above all, her goodness and greatness.
We are witnessing an unconscionable, duplicitous, brazen, insidious, aggressive, evil assault on America and her freedom and founding ideals. Coming from within the nation, it is unprecedented.
But here is the good news. This is not the first such assault (nor will it be the last). It is actually just a new form of the same assault that has forever been launched against the idea of divine presence and authority in human affairs. Most important, it WILL fail, utterly and completely.
How can we be sure? Here’s a simple but, when understood, profound way to think of this: there is an impassable, uncompromisable divide between the U.S. government and the American government.
Even if the U.S. government passes cap and trade, nationalizes the healthcare system, devalues the dollar, raises taxes to 70% and higher, decrees salaries of all working people, disarms the military and attempts to disarm the people, dismantles the Supreme Court, orders the disbanding of churches and synagogues—and then proceeds in Pravda to announce the people’s approval and enthusiastic support of these ‘visionary’ and triumphant and ‘just’ changes, every bit of it will be a LIE. Every bit of it will prove powerless and empty and delusional—a horrific nightmare for humanity, but ultimately, a nightmare—not true nor real nor lasting.
Why? Because the American government is founded upon truth itself. It is founded on the truth that all men are created equal by one Creator, and that they are endowed by this Creator with certain inalienable rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As Calvin Coolidge once pointed out,
this is final.
If man is created by God, if all men are created equal in God’s sight, if man’s rights are endowed by God and are made inalienable by God—this trumps forever any effort to overturn or change these fundamental facts and truth.
Now, does this mean Americans have nothing to worry about, that they can just wait out the assault, and pull a voting lever in a future election and fix everything? Of course not. Past assaults on American government have been extremely violent and horrendously damaging to persons and property—the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World Wars I and II, to name just a few—and it can be hard to be optimistic that this latest assault will be defeated without similar or even worse violence and damage.
We don’t know the particular course this assault will take before it is defeated; we only know it will be defeated. And we take heart from the experience of America winning the Cold War without firing a shot. It required the alertness and extraordinary courage of a strong Christianly-grounded leader, Ronald Reagan, to awaken the nation to the nature of the threat—the ‘evil empire’—and the basis for faith in the ultimate triumph over evil—as Reagan put it (recounted in Paul Kengor’s book:
“God and Ronald Reagan, a Spiritual Life”):
"He told a joint session of the Irish National Parliament in June 1984 that the "struggle between freedom and totalitarianism today" was ultimately not a test of arms or missiles "but a test of faith and spirit." It was, he said, a "spiritual struggle."
In our view, Reagan deserves great and enduring credit as an individual, but he really was the outcome or reflection of an American electorate awake and alert to the authenticity of the good he spoke and represented. The people intuitively grasped and responded to his grasp of the spiritual struggle they were facing in the form of communism. In other words, the condition of thought in the country was receptive enough to embrace Reagan’s ideas as right and true, despite the media—then, as now—always ridiculing those same ideas and anyone who espouses similar ideas (e.g., Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin).
The American electorate today is more awake and alert than Pravda or the US government realizes. They sense the spiritual struggle that is at the heart of the war with socialism and leftism and atheism. The people are just struggling with determining the means and methods by which to stop this assault. Right now they are still trying their Constitutional means of redress, with phone calls, emails, faxes and other appeals to their
elected Representatives.
They are watching and waiting to see if their message and the truth will be received. But they are also praying, not only with the faith that God can, but that God will be a present force for good in preserving America and the American government—for assuring that “His truth goes marching on”. If next steps need to be taken, the right ones will unfold when needed, and they will be acted upon. With or without a single voice to rally around, free men and women will not surrender their freedom.
We have absolutely zero doubt that Obama and his agenda will be defeated and rejected, spectacularly. We just can't predict the timing or, unfortunately, the cost (in the very broadest sense of that term). We think it may happen sooner and with much less cost than anyone currently believes possible.
We join millions of Americans in working and praying to see this nation protected and preserved, and we are ready, willing and able to act in response. Expect results. The American government will prevail.
