The Unconscionable Global Warming Movement

By now just about anyone with an internet connection has heard or seen the advertising videos created by a prominent U.K. screenwriter in support of “10.10” – an environmental organization calling for a 10% reduction in carbon each year for 10 years, beginning in 2010.

The video most commented upon depicts a middle school classroom scene where students are asked about their support for the campaign. All but a few recalcitrant stragglers eagerly raise their hands. The teacher takes note of the stragglers, and placidly pushes a red button on her desk, whereupon these students are blown up, with full blood and gore. If you want to see for yourself, take a look here.

There could be tremendous positive significance to emergence of this video, if only our best Judeo-Christian American leaders will wake up to it, recognize what it means, and step visibly to the forefront of a national determination to reject outright the evil that is and has been the global warming hoax from its very inception.

Never mind the global warming alarmist lightweights who fall into line with whatever the latest ‘do-good’ fad might be, just so they can get pats on the head for their superior social awareness and their fine and upstanding purchase of a hybrid car. The evil resides in the thought leadership of this movement, and the 10.10 video makes it plain.

The leaders of the global warming movement are among the most aggressively godless intellectuals in the world today. To them humans are self-evidently in an all matter world, where this tenuous thing called life is 100% subject to the whims and calculations of matter—in the GW case, it all depends on measurements of carbon dioxide, and the ‘experts’ authoritative (and authoritarian) determination of what levels must, can or should be appropriate to sustain material life. An entire regime of controls over what can be grown, eaten, built, bought, sold, used, driven and yes, even thought, necessary follows. Anyone who dares say or think otherwise had better get out of their way. The aggressiveness has now moved very close to the absolute evil of eugenics—as evidenced by the video’s depiction that those who will not conform to their aggressive doctrine are a substandard form of life which can and should be exterminated so that the superior among us can live.

It’s sickeningly ironic that those who have disputed the global warming movement from the outset have been called Holocaust deniers. The leadership of the global warming movement is now being exposed as just a different strain of the same anti-God, anti-Christian malevolence that propelled the Nazi movement and produced the Holocaust.

It’s past time for Judeo-Christian leaders around the world to wake up to this evil and denounce it once and for all. Perhaps the 10.10 videos will connect in ways the exposure of fraudulent science and faked data did not.

Don’t fall for the snickering dismissal of ‘lighten up, it’s just Monty Python humor that maybe went a little too far’. Think instead of the number of people involved in hiring the ‘best’ screenwriting talent, writing the script, casting the actors, setting the scene, and producing and distributing the video. And all of the people involved in deciding to fund it. No one stopped it. We would guess no one even raised a question about it, because the global warming movement has grown to such a lockstep groupthink of righteous believers that they can’t fathom that anyone would think their video not only not funny but sick.

And don’t leap into the maw of confused concepts of forgiveness, such as “oh, their intentions are good, they just made a mistake in how best to tell their story, so let it go.” We are seeing evil right in front of us. We do not need to forgive it or excuse it; we need to denounce it forcefully and publicly and thereby destroy it. And no, that doesn’t mean pushing a red button to kill global warming zealots. But it does mean calmly and consistently and steadfastly and publicly identifying the godless essence of what they are preaching, denouncing it as based on and hateful toward the very idea of a higher power (while elevating themselves to take the place of a higher power), and exposing its overriding agenda to make man subject to and not having dominion over his surroundings.

The global warming movement has become unconscionable in its motives and aims and actions. It is patently anti-God and anti-Christian. It’s time for all people of faith to reject it out of hand.

(Jonah Goldberg of National Review has a good column on this same topic, here.)
