The Gig is Up
The Obama administration just cannot come to grips with an American populace that is wide awake to their leftist agenda and Alinsky tactics—they are not fooled anymore; they are not amused; and they are out of patience. These thoughts come to mind as Obama trumpets his ‘outreach’ to Republicans to salvage nationalized healthcare, and the Beltway elitists are all atwitter over the brilliance of this political tactic.
Obama/Axelrod/Emanuel apparently believe that after a year of shutting out Republican ideas, a year of backroom deals, and an unprecedented election in Massachusetts in which Scott Brown made the “41” mantra the unequivocal and signature issue of his campaign (a reference to his promise to be the 41st ‘no’ vote on nationalized healthcare), a six-hour staged meeting with Republicans will turn the tide of American opinion. The belief is that the wondrous Obama can pontificate, hector, cajole, demonize and deflect, and the end result will be a nationalized healthcare plan that is 90+% of what he wants. The belief is further based on unlimited confidence that the mainstream media can transform Obama into a leader striving hard against the evil partisan Republicans, and the American people will rally to their leader and reject Republicans because they just won’t get along.
There are plenty of voices on the conservative side who actually fear this result. They see Congressional Republicans as unable to stand up to the wiles of Obama and his tactics; they still see the mainstream media as able to shape and control opinion.
They just don’t realize: the gig is up.
A solid majority of Americans aren’t fooled by the mainstream media anymore. In most cases, they aren’t listening or watching at all, but even those who do know there is an agenda at work and it is filtering and manipulating information in a way that simply cannot and will not be trusted. And so information is obtained by the American people through hundreds of trusted alternative sources of news and commentary (websites and blogs), and opinion is most strongly shaped by the dynamic medium of talk radio.
The end result is that transparent and empty theatrics like Obama’s outreach to Republicans on healthcare are already recognized and dismissed as transparent and empty theatrics. The latest effort of the mainstream media to buttress the theatrics by creating a poll result claiming 60+% of the American people want Republicans to work with Democrats to pass this legislation is just one more piece of patently obvious leftist propaganda that is not fooling anyone. Even if a stray Republican in Congress is fooled into endorsing some element of Obama’s agenda in return for a mainstream media pat-on-the-head, the American people don’t want any part of this agenda, and they are mad as hell that it keeps being pursued in utter defiance and disdain for the will and wisdom of the American people. The American people are going to erupt once again the minute they sense any movement toward Obama’s agenda, and they are going to crush the Congressional arrogance that is behind it all.
How will they do it? Emails, faxes, phone calls, petitions and the like will continue; poll after poll after poll will frighten incumbents; tea party events will continue to generate more and more confident and visible spokespersons (
Andrew Breitbart
and
Sarah Palin
among them) who both resonate with and amplify the energy of the tea partiers; and sooner or later, the theme of fraud and resignation will start to percolate up through the grassroots and on to the punditry.
The people are truly fed up with what is happening to their country under Obama, and there is a bubbling undercurrent that started with ‘gee, I guess I really didn’t know much about this guy before the election’ that is undergoing a transformation to ‘who the hell is this guy, and why is he doing things he never said he would do and saying things he never said during the campaign?’ “Buyer’s remorse” is the gentle phrase that has received some mention up to this point, but the more accurate feeling is a budding anger at the scope and brazenness of this fraud. It is criminal.
Americans are slow to turn on their President, and they’ve held out hope that this smooth-talking guy will come around like a legitimate leader with at least a trace of American authenticity. But it’s not happening, and people have lost patience. Obama has permanently lost the trust of the American people, but he doesn’t know it yet because his inner circle and the media don’t know it. He can stage 10 healthcare summits, and the Beltway media cocoon can talk to themselves until they are blue in the face about how they think Obama has turned public opinion back in favor of him and his agenda. It’s all a lie, a façade, a farce. The media can’t make it into anything other than what it is.
Obama’s worldview and agenda are godless, truthless, and devoid of anything genuinely honest. The American people now know it. His administration may continue to strut around believing they are the change they’ve been waiting for, and Axelrod and company may continue to believe in the power of spin and manipulation to preserve and solidify power. They are going to find out that American ideals and Americans have a divine origin and foundation that can’t be reached or toppled by deceit—once the people are awake.
The people are awake now. Obama/Reid/Pelosi, and not the American people, are going to fall.
The gig is up.
