Fraud is as Fraud Feels

The national conversation will turn to impeachment, very soon

A solid and growing majority of Americans know they were defrauded in the election of 2008. The list of examples goes on and on and on, and it grows every week, and sometimes on a daily basis. It is leading inexorably to the impeachment and removal of Obama from the presidency. The Pravda pundits can’t see it coming. The mere thought of it sends them to the edge of a nervous breakdown-- they imagine race riots in the streets, and a leaderless America in chaos. They reach out to their liberal lawyer friends, who assure them that the Constitution’s standard for impeachment: “high crimes and misdemeanors” cannot be met, so that even if someone were thinking of impeachment, the idea simply won’t get off the ground because of legal standards. And then we get conservative apologist intellectuals like Noemie Emery, writing with self-important insight and sensitivity as to why Obama is not really at fault in any moral sense—that what is happening in America is just an incredible case of coincidence and misunderstanding and misinterpretation, etc., etc.

Impeachment and removal is coming because Obama’s fraud on the American people is the most fundamental, impeachable offense against the Constitution imaginable. The Declaration of Independence and Constitution acknowledged unalienable rights under God, and Obama’s lies about what his positions were and how he views the Constitution and the laws of the land directly and unequivocally and deliberately undermine those rights and the system of government guaranteed by the Constitution. If what he has done and is doing is NOT impeachable, nothing is.

Moreover, Congress is faced with the increasing realization that the American people know they were lied to, and they are growing more furious by the day. Careerist politicians who have lived inside the Beltway too long may believe the Pravda media can help spin the people back into line, but it’s not going to happen. And party operatives may think this is just another partisan divide that needs to be fought to some kind of draw through traditional partisan political tactics. But the growing fury of the American people crosses party lines and encompasses the vast majority of independents. The radical left-wing agenda being pursued by Obama is embraced by less than 20% of Americans, and the fact that it was concealed and disguised and outright denied in the election campaign of 2008 has the vast majority of the other 80% steaming angry. It is the lawyers that had better get into line, and recognize that when the common sense of the people knows there has been a fraud, the law had better conform to that common sense.

And as to the apologists who wring their hands and want everyone to calm down and just agree that what is going in the country is just terribly unfortunate but ultimately not blameworthy, well, the list is just growing too long:

• Approving an unconscionable ‘stimulus’ bill that was not a stimulus (and included $8B for ACORN, see below)

• Promising transparency and public access to proposed legislation as a candidate, and then as President allowing and endorsing Congressional voting on legislation that has never been read (the stimulus) and isn’t even written (cap-and-tax), and committing to do the same with respect to healthcare legislation

• Pursuing government takeover of auto companies, implemented through blatant law-breaking to pay back the unions

• Espousing a ‘deficit hawk’ philosophy as a candidate, while pursuing irrational deficit spending at incomprehensible levels as President

• Appointing unvetted, unaccountable, unconstitutional czars – way outside the norms of how the US government operates; a repository of avowed “Truthers” like Van Jones, and moral idiots like Kevin Jennings.

• Denying the depth of Obama’s association with ACORN and his knowledge of what they are—which is now exposed as a blatantly decadent criminal enterprise

• Turning the NEA into a house organ of the Obama agenda, against its charter to refrain from political side-taking

• Releasing terrorists from Guantanamo Bay, while moving toward prosecution of CIA officers trying to protect the nation

• Inciting racial tensions with completely irresponsible and unfounded allegations of police acting ‘stupidly’

• Allowing the Department of Justice to dismiss a blatant case of Black Panther voter intimidation

• Delivering relentless worldwide apology speeches, denying the goodness and greatness of America and disparaging and distorting the history of America

• Siding with tyrants and dictators in Iran and Venezuela and Honduras, and dissing stalwart allies like the U.K. and Israel

• Denying America as a Christian nation

• Claiming authorship of autobiographies – now exposed as a lie, including specifically the lie about the extent of his ‘guy in the neighborhood’ relationship with Bill Ayers

• Pursuing the nationalization of healthcare while repeatedly lying about the intended provisions of the unwritten plan, such as the intended coverage of illegal aliens and the impact of death panels

• Allowing allegations of racism as the substance of opposition to nationalized healthcare to go unaddressed and undenounced

• Leaving US generals in Afghanistan to flap in the wind in what Obama the candidate called a ‘war of necessity’ but Obama the President is preparing to run away from

• Withholding information from the American people about Iranian nuclear facilities and the obvious intentions that flow from them, while falsely portraying an effective Iranian containment policy and falsely and delusionally claiming progress in nuclear disarmament

Yes, any single item in the list above could be picked apart as grounds for impeachment. A few of the items can be argued to speak only of presidential temperament or judgment, and not of deceit. But to paraphrase, ‘it’s the length of the list, stupid!’ The camel's back broke a long time ago. And the list keeps growing.

The fact is, the American people did not see this agenda coming, and while a hundred factors can be drummed up to explain why they didn’t see it coming, a large and inescapable portion of the responsibility lies with Barack Obama.

The American people did not vote for this agenda, and they do not want it. It is the liberal Democrats’ determination to pursue it in conscious defiance of the will of the American people that creates the real risk of riots and lawlessness in America.

And that’s why impeachment and removal is coming. Fraud on the American people is a high crime and misdemeanor. Fraud isn’t always defined by legal niceties; the real standard is very simple (with a bow to Forest Gump): fraud is as fraud feels. The American people feel defrauded, they are furious, and their government had better address it and correct it. The way to do it is called impeachment and removal.
