Don't Fear the Final Week Fog

The entire edifice of the lies of liberalism—the Democrat Party, the media and academia—is on the ropes in the final week before November 2nd. It’s not surprising to see a surge of disinformation and false information designed to suppress American patriot turnout and/or to set expectations so high for a Republican rout that anything less than 100 seats in the House and 12 in the Senate will somehow prove that the nation really supports Obama and is merely looking for more ‘bipartisanship’.

We’ve written about the hysterical, screaming media's role in all this; we’ve also noted how much bigger what is going on in America is than a mere mid-term election. At the risk of some redundancy, we’ll go at it again.

This is not about equally merited alternative political or economic philosophies. It’s about a nation under God, or a nation gone under. It’s about good vs. evil; up vs. down. There is no middle ground to search for.

November 2nd is the first step of many that must and will return America to a nation under God. What Americans know in their hearts—no matter what the output of the 24/7 fog-making machinery—is that there is no other choice.

There is no radical left solution to any problem facing America. None. The radical left is synonymous with godless intellectualism—the arrogant dismissal of the very idea that truth, or God exists. That’s a foundation from which nothing positive or constructive can be built.

Take a simple example, applied in very practical terms: all the intellectual elitists in the world can sit in a room and salute the idea of raising taxes to pay for the orgy of spending (this is exactly what the Simpson-Bowles ‘deficit reduction plan’ will propose). Maybe they can even use media pressure to get a cowardly set of Congressional leaders to a cave in a vote for a tax increase under the full cover of ‘reasonable’ and ‘rational’ law-making. There’s just one problem. This is still America, populated mostly by Americans. They won’t pay the increased taxes.

There is an old cartoon joke depicting a ship powered by slave-oarsmen. The slavemaster keeps cracking the whip and warns that ‘beatings will continue until morale improves’. Add to this joke Margaret Thatcher’s common sense observation that ‘the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money’ and you’ll have the basic economic picture of where America is right now.

Unemployment is high and rising (60 Minutes says the effective unemployment and underemployment rate is in excess of 17%); there is no optimism that spurs the kind of risk-taking that creates new jobs; and the prevailing liberal prescription is to raise taxes on the shrinking number of employed (keep up the beatings) and/or to flat out confiscate the savings of those who have lived frugally and saved for a rainy day (this is not an inexhaustible source; it is ‘other people’s money’ that can run out, too).

Many Americans won’t have a job so they won’t have any income to pay taxes anyway. But those who do will find ways to convert to an underground economy, where more of their income is earned (and spent) but not reported for tax purposes. Money will be taken out of banks and kept at home. Bartering will flourish. Leftists will call for more beatings and more confiscation, but morale won’t improve and there will be nothing left to confiscate.

So there you have it: liberal mantras about the power of almighty government to stimulate, regulate, tax, spend and prohibit its way to directing and controlling human progress and prosperity have been exposed as contemptible lies, and now America is in a mess where more of the same liberalism will only make things worse. And the American people know it, from coast to coast and border to border. There aren’t any more strongholds of liberalism; the very concept of a ‘stronghold of liberalism’ is a non-sequitur.

It’s no wonder Pravda and the rest of the fog-making machinery is working overtime in the last week before the elections. No stories about the massive and continuing deterioration of the economy; no stories about the absence of a federal budget under a Democrat-controlled Congress; no stories about the DOJ’s now-fully exposed racist and discriminatory approach to law enforcement; no stories about the Ground Zero mosque; no stories about Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons; no stories about the federal government’s lawsuit against the State of Arizona. The stories are about wacky and weird tea party candidates and the need of elites to weed them out or control them. Pravda’s agenda and news filter have become transparent to everyone —which is to say, they generate a pretty weak fog.

So there is no need to fear any source of the final week fog being put out by the elitist ruling class. Tea party patriotism is on fire at a level that will burn up the fog. The fire will rage on, this week, and the week after November 2nd, and the weeks and months and years after that. Brushfires of Freedom cannot be stopped.
