Freedom Will Dismantle the Obama Cult of Personality

It’s astonishing to hear Warren Buffett categorically disagree with four major points of Obama’s ‘program’—Buffett opposes ‘card check’; rejects the demonizing of business executives who use corporate jets for business purposes; opposes ‘cap and trade’ as nothing but a new tax; and opposes the detours into healthcare and other matters wholly unrelated to restoring the economy—and then voice his strong support for Obama and his confidence that ‘he’s the right guy’.

Multi-billionaire, sage investor, seasoned citizen, honored philanthropist—and Buffett either (a) can’t spot a fraud when it is right in front of him, or (b) has no guts to speak against Obama because of some poll that says he appears to be popular. Buffett no doubt is a tough negotiator when he’s living in the land of the free where the rule of law prevails. And if the context is business, presumably Buffett knows enough about ‘due diligence’ to detect a Bernie Madoff before committing money to him. But when the task is to discern spiritual substance and character vs. mere intellect and style, he apparently isn’t up to it. Either that, or standing up to popular opinion and saying unequivocally that “what Obama is doing is wrong and I don’t support him when he is doing what is wrong and he needs to be defeated when he is wrong” is just too scary for Buffett. Either way, Buffett has now shown definitively that he has lived well off the greatness of America, but he has a ways to go before he proves he is made of the stuff that built it.

Others show the same tendency, all the way up to columnist Kevin Hassett, who sees Obama for the Manchurian candidate he is, but concludes merely that he is ‘puzzled’ as to why Obama, who wants what’s best for our country, would do the things he’s doing.

Now, we’re inclined to believe that Hassett’s conclusion is just a sop thrown in to make sure the rest of his column is given a serious look, as opposed to an honest, stupidly naïve comment. But either way, it again illustrates the extreme trepidation otherwise intelligent people have in speaking out against Obama.

This is why many Americans today speak with fear of a new Hitler. Do we have enough leaders who will say the emperor has no clothes? When will someone in elected office actually step up and call this fraud a fraud? When will elected leaders stop worshipping ambiguous, wafer-thin popularity polls and start listening to the voices of the free, engaged and productive citizens of this country who have turned heavily against Obama’s policies, if not yet Obama himself?

The course we are on as a country can be reversed and must be reversed; we just need some moral courage from our leaders. And they can be from either or both political parties, because the fact is that the ranks of disaffected Democrats is very large and growing. What Obama is doing violates the spirit of America—and to cut right to the core, it violates the truth of God and His creation—which He has endowed with inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Rush Limbaugh was brilliant in pointing out that the founding of the country and the establishment of the Constitution reflected a deliberate and well-justified move away from the rule of kings. Of all the invaluable contributions George Washington made to the country, perhaps the most important was his refusal to become the king when it was offered to him. From that time forward, the Presidency has been afforded great respect, but the President is not a king and his desires are not law. He most certainly is not a messiah, and the greatest Presidents—Washington, Lincoln, Reagan—would be repelled by the mere suggestion of messianic stature. The President has the task of persuading another branch of government to enact laws through a legislative process that can act as a check and balance on Presidential ambition, and there is a Supreme Court that is supposed to protect the Constitution against Presidents or anyone else who would seek to subvert or sidestep it. There is a First Amendment that allows the people and the press to say what they think without facing the wrath of a king or other tyrannical government authority.

Thanks to Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin and others, the battle is being joined across the country, and the tide is turning. We believe there is no stopping it, because it is impelled by a power not controllable by political hacks. As the Bible says, “there is a spirit in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.” People are understanding that their God-given freedom is being threatened; their godly heritage as Americans is under assault; and their very right to consider themselves the children of God with inalienable rights is under attack. They are past being assuaged by clever speeches made with teleprompters.

Obama would do well to remember Lincoln’s answer to the man who asked if Lincoln prayed that God would be on Lincoln’s side. Lincoln said no, he prayed to be sure he was on God’s side.

Obama suckered Buffett and millions of others with his act; he is now being gently told by Buffett and others that he needs to change course. Obama needs to understand that if he doesn’t change course soon, even the Buffetts of the world are going to feel suckered. They’re not going to like it. And even if Buffett never finds the guts to openly denounce Obama as a fraud, we believe there is enough heart and soul and courage in America that others will.

Obama needs to reverse course immediately, or resign.
