Christmas 2009: Be Unafraid...
Be Very Unafraid

The godless left is headed for oblivion, not triumph

Over the past year or so, we can’t think of a more overused phrase in the punditry than ‘be afraid, be very afraid.’ Usually our Pravda commentators are summarizing their dire assessment of global warming (now conclusively shown to be a complete hoax), or of their view of the horrible American healthcare system, or perhaps just recycling some hit piece on George W. Bush for proclaiming that freedom is the God’s gift to every man and woman in the world. But lately the phrase is showing up in conservative commentary as well, as writer after writer chronicles the actions of the Obama administration and where these actions are leading us in terms of extreme social, civil, political, religious, economic and international instability.

Against this backdrop, it could hardly be more fitting that Harry Reid, in faithful obeisance to the godless, radical left-wing Obama administration, is marching down a path that would schedule a Senate vote on a healthcare nationalization bill—the most insidious attack on God-given freedom, and the most brazen example of government-in-the-place-of-God philosophy, in the history of the American nation—on Christmas Eve, 2009.

So we’re happy to sound a contrary note. Christmas marks the arrival of truth and the fulfillment of law in a way that cannot be overruled by the actions of men, no matter how many times they try, and no matter how many human opinions say they can. “The government shall be upon his shoulder” is the Bible’s phrase, and it hasn’t been superseded and isn’t going to be superseded, ever.

All the backroom wheeling and dealing; all the exalted significance assigned to the presence of 60 Senate votes; all the spin in the world claiming ‘historic’ and ‘permanent’ change—none of it has any lasting power whatsoever. Truth and liberty have their origin and sustenance in that which the American founders called ‘divine Providence’. They were right then; they are right, now.

Harry Reid may bribe and extort his way to 60 Senate votes; Nancy Pelosi may strong arm her way to a House-Senate reconciled bill quickly; and all of it may be voted on and signed into ‘law’ by Obama. But it is a fraud; it is manifest deceit; it violates the will of the people; it is an attempt to trample on the unfoldment of divine Providence in human affairs.

If it were seen as an attempt to pass a law abolishing Christmas—which at the deepest level is what it actually is: the substitution of human government for God—we would all know in our hearts just how powerless and futile the whole charade is. Men can’t abolish Christmas. Herod tried that a long time ago, when the godless government of his time sought to kill every baby boy under age two in order to stop the ascendancy of truth. And 30-40 years later, the government of men tried again, through a state-sanctioned ‘trial’ and crucifixion. Still didn’t work, and the resurrection proved it would never work.

The Christ in Christmas lives today, in every human heart. The noise of godless leftism seems to have center stage, and is strutting for the cameras as it tries desperately to convince itself of its power. The Pilates of today’s Senate seem again to think that they must bow to what a fraudulent media tells them is popular, but their decisions to support such an abomination will be no more effective to enforce it than the original Pilate’s decision. Pilate’s decision actually perpetuated and extended Christ Jesus’ influence. The modern Pilates’ decision is stirring love for God-given liberties as enshrined in the American Constitution as never before. They are perpetuating and extending these liberties, though in ways utterly beyond their comprehension.

So this Christmas, as you watch this godless, criminal government continue to mock truth and defy the American people and their God-given heritage (which is really all humanity’s heritage)—be unafraid. Be very unafraid. Christmas proved that false government cannot block Truth. That’s an established fact, and it is never going to change.

The Obama government is offensive to His government; it is going to collapse, unravel, and be removed.

Remember these words from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s Christmas Day poem “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day”, written in the midst of despair over the original American Civil War:

“God is not dead; nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”

Merry Christmas!
