"A New Birth of Freedom"

America still has its Lincolns, and they need to speak up NOW

At a critical juncture in the American Civil War, Abraham Lincoln stepped up and delivered the simplest but most profound affirmation of the God-given uniqueness and rightness of the American ideal of government: the Gettysburg Address. The speech has rightfully taken on a hallowed place in American and human history. To refresh your memory, read the whole thing, here.

Lincoln’s stirring and determined summation—that ‘government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth’—captured his sense of the ‘new birth of freedom’ that was so needed at that time.

A new birth of freedom is needed now. It is actually happening all over the country—a nearly spontaneous eruption of the human spirit in rebellion against the increasingly transparent and tyrannical agenda of the Obama/Soros adminstration. We hope it won’t take a second America Civil War to stop this agenda. Americans did not vote for it in November 2008. They voted for some abstract vision of what the election of a black-skinned American might mean if in fact he was an America-loving, America-understanding patriot who happened to be of the Democrat Party. Barack Obama is neither. He is a radical left-wing socialist/communist/authoritarian who was wrapped in the false and deceptive packaging of black (or half-black) skin. His philosophy is not remotely close to 80% of the people who think of themselves as Democrats.

The fraud is now pretty clear to all Americans, and Soros and the radical left know that the battle is joined. Pravda can prattle on all it wants about townhall meetings being atypical or abnormal in some way, but they are wrong. The townhall protests are the most honest outpouring of the human love of freedom that we have ever seen in this country. And they are not going to stop; they are not going to be muzzled; they are not going to be ‘Axelrod-managed’ into acceptable poll numbers for taking action against their will. They are going to be honored and obeyed, and they are going to triumph. The only question is over what period of time and at what cost.

Soros clearly wants to double-down on his attempt to destroy America and the Judeo-Christian heritage they represent—and Obama is marching right along. They have twisted arms in Big Pharma to fund their false and misleading advertising on the nationalized healthcare proposals. They are renaming healthcare reform into ‘health insurance’ reform in order to villainize another American industry, and are attempting to piggyback on the lie of 40+ million uninsured Americans.

Their tyrannical cap-and-trade scheme may appear stalled, but it is part of the one-two punch that is intended to dismantle America. Again, it is based on a lie—the lie of man-made global warming and the lie that this scheme will have any effect whatsoever on the climate of earth.

Sarah Palin stepped up in a comparatively minor way when she used a Facebook entry to blast away at the end-of-life/value of life counseling bureaucracy of the healthcare legislation—the death panels—and rightly called them ‘downright evil’.

Well, the entire agenda of Obama is evil. It’s time to say so—throughout the nation, at every venue, through every medium. To swallow up the entirety of American freedom—to destroy the foundational premise of America: individual freedom and responsibility under God—is a crime against all humanity under whatever pretense it is pursued. To do so on the pretense of two monumental and demonstrable lies is more than egregious. It is more than unconscionable. It is evil.

Evil ultimately is not power. It is a lie. It is an imposition. It is a denial of God and of God-given freedom. That is why ‘a new birth of freedom’ is the antidote. It is plain that the antidote has been delivered; it is being administered. And the history of humanity indicates the antidote will be effective.

Our own view is that the cost of surviving and defeating this evil need not be on a par with the Civil War. All it really takes is a few prominent and courageous Americans to step up and say what needs to be said. We’re happy to see Sarah Palin warming up to the job; we also think Dick Cheney knows how to do it. Who knows, maybe even George W. Bush will come out of an utterly unwise self-imposed hibernation to stand up for the country that, whatever his faults, he so obviously loves.

The time is now. This is not a game. This is not about tactical political reformulations over an August recess. This is about saving America for the benefit of all humanity. This is about a new birth of freedom that must come to fruition.
