This is Bigger than a New Congress
Don’t fret about whether the new Congress Americans are about to elect will be up to the task of stopping and reversing the Obama agenda, and removing Obama from the Presidency. If we believe everything depends on people and their skills and their laws, we’ll have no choice but to fret. The better alternative is to do what the founders did: trust divine Providence, and trust that taking a stand for the very idea of ‘trust in divine Providence’ will result in positive adjustments beyond our shrewdest calculations.
This comes to mind as we hear renewed speculation over whether establishment Republicans will take majority control of both houses of Congress, and then default to polite timidity in confronting the Obama agenda and the Obama administration. Rush Limbaugh has ventured his guess that John Boehner and Mitch McConnell are already in a sort of hang-wringing mode based on their fear that the American people won’t understand that unless Republicans have veto-proof majorities, they really can’t repeal Obamacare or any other law passed under the Obama regime.
As a tactical aside, surely Boehner and McConnell understand that the American people will demand that they vote to repeal Obamacare as the minimum step of good faith in fulfilling what the American people have plainly said they want. Let Obama veto the repeal, spin his justification any way he wants, and let Pravda amplify his justification any way they want—the American people will have none of it. They are fed up with the arrogance and defiance of this administration, and a veto of the repeal will only add to their resolve. Which brings us to a comment we made just a few days ago in
“2010, Sir, is Not 1994”:
“The [Congressional] class of 2010 is going to be made of sterner stuff than the class of 1994, and it is going to be backed and held accountable by sterner stuff than the class of 1994. The sleeping giant of “Americans” is going to be behind the class of 2010; that’s a force Clinton and Obama have only read about. They haven’t the slightest clue how powerful it is.
The “it” we were referring to is the real reason that what is going on in 2010 is bigger than a new Congress, and the vital defeat of the evil we are facing does not depend on personalities in the new Congress. When the history of this period is written, there will be a recognition that this force as to which Clinton and Obama are clueless boils down to a simple word: truth. Truth is impelling this awakening across America, and
truth has a way
of uncovering, removing and destroying whatever is offensive or untrue. Never mind what human artifices of law or procedures (or czars) are used to prop up lies; in the end, they cannot stand up to truth.
Yes, the new Congress will occupy a certain stage and have certain roles to play. But what is going on in America is infinitely bigger than the human capacities of John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. The power behind it is also beyond the control of a million George Soros’s and a thousand Pravda media outlets. The power behind it is not the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution; the power behind it is the power that brought forth the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. The founding fathers called it ‘divine Providence’; the other word for it is “God”.
Obama has been thoroughly exposed as a fraud. He is not who he presented himself to be in the campaign of 2008, and his insistence on continued dissembling and deceit about what his motives and intentions are amounts to a self-imposed forfeiting of the right to continue in office. He thinks, and his circle of sycophants think, that political gamesmanship and lawyering and PR spinning can defer any accountability for the unconscionable fraud he has perpetrated. He thinks when the battle is the shrewd and calculating and clever against the ignorant masses, the masses have no chance. He thinks truth doesn’t really exist; that erudite opinion and smooth-talk can make their own truth. This is offensive, and
it won’t stand.
We’re well aware that in 2010, any blog that includes references to such things as truth and God and the Bible will in certain quarters be instantly tagged as the scolding and ranting of a right-wing religious nut. But even in those quarters, the truly honest know that the world picture that has followed Obama’s election is deeply distorted, dark and increasingly dangerous. And among the more genuinely religious (which is most Americans) there is an instinctive recognition that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution represented a sort of God-given foundation stone of truth for the betterment of humanity. Obama and his godless cabal think they are a new kind of builders who can
reject that stone,
and move on to their leftist utopia. But many, many Americans know that the Bible records that mankind has seen this movie, and has told us how it ends:
”The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes… and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”
Why would anyone think the reversal of Obama’s agenda or
Obama’s removal
from the Presidency (a) depends on a new Congress, or (b) would be a surprise?
